Day 5 & 6: Lubbock, TX, to Albuquerque, NM

Well, Lubbock was just dandy. Backstage was a choir loft, so couldn't use all the set pieces because they couldn't get off stage when they were not needed. There were only a couple things we couldn't use. Mom said she didn't miss them, and I'm sure the audience didn't because they didn't know they were supposed to be there. The show went great. The audience was great, definitely the best yet. My ankle was worse in the morning, but by show time it was fine. Fat, but fine. I had to wrap it and I put ice on it at the hotel. It doesn't really hurt, only if I bend it around.
It was raining last night when we needed to load the set into the trailer. We thought about just waiting it out or coming back in the morning, but we decided to just go ahead and load up really fast. It wasn't raining hard.
We had waffles shaped like Texas this morning:
We didn't have to be here in Albuquerque at any certain time, so we didn't check out until we had to -- 12 -- then we went to lunch. We finally hit the road about 2, and got here about 9:15 our time, which is 8:15 Albuquerque time. The sky was so beautiful today, I took so many pictures. The clouds were amazing!! It was flat for a while, then we got to some great mountains.
The next show is on Wednesday, so we have a day off tomorrow. There is a lovely outdoor pool here, so I'm sure we'll get in on that. So, all is well. We aren't sick of anything yet. :)

  1. oo, take it easy today! Sounds like fun! I'm glad you had a live crowd--it really makes a difference, doesn't it. Nothing wrong with Mom sitting in the audience laughing, just to get things started, hee hee. I've done that before!

How about a post from Mom? She could be a guest writer...

    Or she could call me.

    Love,
    Alice

    that waffle was backwards.

  2. And your dad is cracking me up about the veggies in the fridge. Think you'll have to throw them all away when you get home?

  3. Actually, I know for a fact that there are no veggies in the fridge, unless he got some after we left. :)

  4. There are no veggies in the fridge. We've been eating BBQ wings and chips mostly :-)

  5. Glad your ankle doesn't hurt much, but it still sounds ouchy! (as my kids would've said when they were little) You do know that whole "break a leg" saying is just a euphamism, right? ;)

Glad the show went well and looking forward to the next update. I second the "post from Mom" idea, by the way! Sorry I missed her call and chance to see the kids in Nashville, but we'll try again soon. I'll email later.

    Take care and have fun!
