Day 23 Missoula, Montana

Post from Mom: Well, I made a post last night and the internet cut off when I hit publish. I have to not care or I will go crazy. We left our phone in Kalispell, so unless I find someone with Verizon, I won't talk to you until I get home! I have so much to post, but we have so little time for the internet, and when we do, Allison and I both want it, or it doesn't work, is too slow, their are pictures to upload and go through to edit, or the kids want the computer for a movie! Argggh! I have to go, but just to say that Friday was Elizabeth's 13th birthday. We couldn't do anything special because we had to travel, then do our first time for 2 shows. Today we only travel, so may stop to eat somewhere she likes. Better go or I won't be ready to load the van. Hopefully we can try again tonight. Mom/Susan

  1. Happy birthday, Elizabeth! And happy belated birthday, Jonathan! :) I have so enjoyed reading all your updates and seeing the pics. (Thanks for taking the time to post the cast, both in and out of costume, Allison -- it feels like I'm right there with you!) I am glad you are all enjoying yourselves so much, and I wish you another extraordinary week.

Where will you be on July 4th? I hope somewhere with great fireworks -- I think a celebration of our nation and our freedom is certainly appropriate given the journey you're on right now. What a blessing to live in such a wide open, amazing country; to be allowed to travel as we please; to focus on the things we feel are important for ourselves and our families; and to experience our dreams right here in real life. God bless all of you as you make (and share) all these wonderful memories! :)

Looking forward to the next post,
    Spring

  2. Hi guys. We sure miss you guys around here. Y’all are doing way more shows than there are on the schedule. It has, Redding CA, then Missoula MT. I think you did about 10 shows in between those two.
William and Lexie were home Fri. and Sat. William came down to the basement with a bug grin on his face and said, “ I looked in the fridge.” I said, oh, you saw the pumpkin Ms Lynn brought us. He said “ yeah, and the cool whip, and the cookie dough, and the watermelon, and the dip, and the caramel dipping stuff”. I explained that after I had eaten all the fruits, and vegetables, and the low fat stuff and all the good for me stuff, all that bad stuff was what was left. He seemed to buy it . Excellent bit of parenting on the fly!
We got slowed down in the basement a bit because of the condensate pump on the air conditioner. It broke when I moved it for cleaning, so I put a pan under it to catch the water. When the water got up in the pan a little it caused the pan inside the unit to over flow and the water went all over the floor. I got a new pump and the problem was solved. We have some more walls framed but I am going to have to put in a lot of time this week on millwork for Dad. He also got another job at a Pizza place.
I’m glad your coming home soon. The grass is up to my knees, all the dishes are dirty and I’m almost out of paper plates, the dirty clothes are pilled so high I can barely open the bedroom door, and I wont even mention the bathroom! But I think the hamster is still alive! At least the food keeps disappearing! I think he’s scared to come out. ( just kidding, except the bathroom part.)
Sorry I couldn’t call Elizabeth on her birthday. That was the day y’all left the phone your hotel. Hard to believe she’s 13, except for that being taller than everyone but Scott!
VBS went great. The kids had lots of fun.
Looking forward to seeing you when you get home, Love you all, Dad

  3. We are so glad to hear from you--the boys want to check in every day. So sorry about your phone--I had just called and left a message when I read that it was gone.

    Jimmy is hilarious.

Happy Birthday to Elizabeth! Wow! 13?

The boys are gone to the farm to work in the hot fields. We put a pool on the back porch and Laura and Timothy have been splashing in it. Well, Thomas too... and the baby can walk so well now. He trots around all day and wears himself out good. I think he's easier now, because he so pleased with himself.

Must clean out the schoolroom today.

    Love,
    Alice
